Accolades are still rolling in about Donald Trumps Republican Nomination acceptance speech delivered last week in Cleveland, Ohio. The power, the clarity, the delivery, and cadence were all near perfect in many experts opinions.
Without question, the speech has cemented the bulk of the GOP behind the nominee. Trump’s positions on trade, the rebuilding of our military, terrorism, immigration and many other subjects in this stem-winding oratory by Donald Trump were all received with enthusiasm by the Republican faithful.
My new book that I am currently writing “America; What Happened?” delves nearly exclusively on the subject of probably one of Mr. Trump’s greatest overlooked statements in this speech.
Today in America, the loudest mantra being chanted is “Make America Great Again”. The Democrats are countering with “America is already Great” and to some degree this is true. The sad fact is, for the most part, we have become a mere shell of what we once were, and most of our citizens know this.
Think about this for a moment. When did our violent crimes rates truly begin rising? When did LSD, Heroin, ACID and other hard drugs make their way into mainstream society? When did our rape rates escalate or how about our education system? When did our schools begin deteriorating scholastically? When did some of our citizens start burning our flag? This is something that would not have been conceived in 1946? Burning a flag? The perpetrator would no doubt have been hung from the eaves of a tall building for such an act.
The sad truth is, most of the above and much more began in the late 1960’s and began escalating dramatically through the 70’s. Nearly all of our nation’s worst statistics can be directly traced back to a couple of major events that transpired in the 1960’s and 70’s. At this point, is when we began deteriorating as a nation regarding our morality and strength as a nation.
These statements will be disputed by liberals because they don’t want to take responsibility for our national decline. I can directly apply FBI crime charts to substantiate my claim. So what is it that caused this descent into depravity? What is it that gave birth to porn, escalated our alcoholism rates, drug addiction rates and so much more?
The answer believe it or not lies in a little known IRS tax code known as a 501 (C) 3. This tax code was stuck in a bill by none other than Lyndon Johnson back in 1954. The purpose of the code was to allow Churches and Synagogs to become tax exempt. However, for the right to become tax exempt, Pastors and Clergy were no longer allowed to discuss politics while on Church grounds or if you were clergy, you (for intents and purposes) were silenced from ever discussing politics or endorsing a candidate. If caught doing so, you would very likely have your tax-exempt status stripped and now your church would have to pay taxes on donations.
Being from Texas (originally), we down in the Lone Star State know of the many conversations that Johnson had with friends and family where he often expressed his disdain for America’s religious community and the power they had over their constituency. Due to the fact that much of the Democrat Liberal Agenda is in direct conflict with Biblical principles, Johnson had to silence the Parishes and Churches from commenting so the Dem’s could get the flock behind these atrocious choices.
The first item to get done is prayer. Now that Johnson had his bill signed, he could now go to work on removing prayer from schools. Now he was setting up the voting bloc for generations to come as these school kids grew older. This came about in 1963 when Johnson was now Vice President. He had his 501, now he had a Supreme Court decision removing prayer from school. Then came his Great Society plans where he enslaved generations of African Americans to the welfare system. Then came Roe V Wade in 1973.
Now Johnson’s visions of Democrat control had been laid in stone. Now the deterioration of society began in earnest. President Carter effectively cemented Johnson’s dreams with the creation of the NEA where now the Federal Government through its massively bloated bureaucracy would govern our education system for infinity. (We all know the government doesn’t do away with a federal agency)
A number of years ago, I was listening to Rush Limbaugh. One day when he went on a tirade of the vast effects that Roe V Wade has had on our nation. His quote (and I’m paraphrasing because I cannot remember it exactly) was; “Abortion has devalued the preciousness of human life. When the government say’s it’s alright to slaughter a baby, this devalues life in societies eyes and now you have serious problems“.
Centuries ago, the clergy in our nation was the moral compass for our society. They were truly societies Deacons for our conduct, up to and including “who to vote for” that would cause the government to continue to carry out and govern with biblical principles. This held true all the way through World War II and into the 1950’s. Simply look at our leadership. Most if not all were devoted Christians. Yes, it took some time after the signing in 1954, but look at who came afterward. William Jefferson Clinton? Need I say more? Barack Obama? Enough said here also.
Around the 65 minute mark, Donald Trump began his explanation of what we as a nation were going to accomplish and then he said this;
At this moment, I would like to thank the evangelical community who have been so good to me and so supportive. You have so much to contribute to our politics, yet our laws prevent you from speaking your minds from your own pulpits.
An amendment, pushed by Lyndon Johnson, many years ago, threatens religious institutions with a loss of their tax-exempt status if they openly advocate their political views.
I am going to work very hard to repeal that language and protect free speech for all Americans. We can accomplish these great things, and so much else – all we need to do is start believing in ourselves and in our country again. It is time to show the whole world that America Is Back – bigger, and better and stronger than ever before.
The gravity of that statement is incredible. This would now allow (if he can get this done) the Clergy in our nation to once again voice Biblical principles in the context of politics. This would allow the clergy to advise the flock on how to vote and whom to vote for. This one act can and would turn our nation around as we would now have candidates like Bobby Jindal, Mike Huckabee and so many more in positions of power. Imagine no more Barack Obama’s, no more Bill Clintons, no more Hillary’s and the like? The most important aspect to this would be, the candidates would now feel compelled to govern with aspects that would capitulate to the church which could only be good.
Let us all pray for Donald Trump and a victory for our side this November. If you needed no other reason to work for a candidate this fall, this would be it. Spread the word, share this article and let us all get to work for Donald Trump. Praise God for the clergy that spoke to him.
